Unlike most so-called Christians, I have at least read most of the Bible … one of the seminal foundation myths of Western civilization, right in there with Homer and Chaucer. How would we ever understand Shakespeare without the Bible?

Might I suggest that you actually take the time to write an essay? I consider Medium to be a writer's forum … writing requires some intellectual discipline and effort, reading is largely passive (and commenting is too often passive aggressive).
