Tenure, as any sort of intellectual freedom, doesn't really exist anymore. It is a form of job security, conditioned by the nebulous concept of "collegiality". Not that a bunch of white conservative pseudo-intellectuals are going to do it better... but it would be refreshing to see a university that cared about the humanities, liberal arts, and developing the intellect; rather than doubling down on business and athletics.

I live in the shadow of the University of Arkansas. Of my neighbors that aren't comfortably retired, half are college professors and the other half work for WM. Guess who makes more money?
